Namibia is a country that is fast becoming one of the premier eco-tourism destinations in the world. Every year, thousands of visitors are attracted by the country’s unspoilt, diverse landscape which stretches from the rivers of the Okavango through some of the most magnificent wildlife and game parks, over the great Namib desert to the blue waters of its coast.

Swakopmund has always been the jewel of Namibia’s coastline, and has built a reputation as adrenaline-filled destination, sure to satisfy travelers’ every whim. The Namib dunes surrounding Swakopmund are some of the highest in the world.

The infamous Dune 7 measures an incredible ± 383m. So, it’s not surprising that the area is becoming renowned for its professionally run tourist activities like sandboarding, quad biking, skydiving and desert safaris. If you’re not into adrenaline activities, then choose between spectacular beaches, craft markets, museums, fishing and cruises along the coast. Swakopmund is surrounded by private charters, local tour operators, aviation and safari offices which make it the ideal base to see the rest of Namibia. The Okavango River forms the northern border of Namibia and the network of rivers are sought-after among tourists for its abundance in fishing. Or, for something completely different, visit the Skeleton Coast or Kolmanskop, Namibia’s ghost town swallowed by the Namib Desert. In essence, whatever you’re looking for, Namibia has it in abundance.
